Can your organization qualify?
The IAC’s Method for selecting IAF Licensees
Becoming an IAF Licensee
The IAC is currently interviewing potential organizations, individuals and corporations that have shown interest in securing an IAF License. Reporting to the GAC, each IAF is independent, with varying a range of terms and conditions based on the artistic discipline for which the license is granted.
Interested in securing an IAF License? Having experience or expertise in providing oversight in the discipline you are applying for is an asset, while the ability to work in multiple countries and converse in more than one language (with English being the most widely spoken) will be given preference.
Consideration will be given to those who are passionate about the IAC mission, which is focused on bridging cultural divides and promoting greater cross-cultural understanding.

Every two years, the world comes together to compete for a chance to demonstrate their excellence at the ArtsGames.
IAF Regulations
As an IAF Licensee, you collaborate with the IAC Commission, which has the power to set the rules and regulations for each discipline, based on fairness, accessibility and transparency.
Selected Disciplines
The ArtsGames selected disciplines of competition to provide the best platform and access to all cultures. The cultural cluster map represents 16 of the classical categories for dance and music.
The IAC determines which is the most played or danced discipline in each cultural cluster outlined below. Instruments like piano and dances like Raq Sharqi originated in one of eight cultural clusters and are the most played or danced discipline in that cultural cluster.
The ArtsGames selected the most played or danced discipline as a category of competition globally, as every country has artists in their nation who play or dance these disciplines.
Features of other Disciplines
The Dance and Music Commissions have three distinct categories of competition. Classical, pop and cross- cultural. Disciplines in the popular categories were selected based on the global popularity of each.
The cross-cultural discipline is a competition among the top arrangers, composers and choreographers in the world. Each team is composed of multiple cultures, working together to create a masterful performance that showcases the artistic excellence in the culture of each participating artist of a team, is simultaneously a seamless blend of the diverse styles and brings the world one step closer together.
IAF Licensee
An IAF Licensee connects the community, provincial, state and national arts organizations to a global stage. The IAC’s systems documentation provides all IAFs licensees with the tools to set up, aggregate and execute within two years of procuring an IAF license.
Licenses for the most commercial disciplines must be purchased. Other disciplines may receive financial support from the IAC to develop and execute under separate terms and conditions.
Below are cultural clusters from which 16 disciplines of classical competitions were selected. The selection is based on a sport selection model. The most played discipline in each cultural cluster has been selected as an ArtsGames discipline of classical competition, in both dance and music.
